You can upgrade to any paid tier. The free quota is 5 questions total for the lifetime of your account, not a monthly or yearly allowance. They never expire, but once all 5 are used, running more assessments requires a paid tier.
Each paid tier includes a monthly credit pool. If you go over, additional attempts bill at the same rack rate (Starter / Scale) or with the tier's baked-in discount (Pro). Volume discounts auto-apply to attempts beyond the monthly threshold. Overage is never billed at a penalty rate.
Yes. Every paid account can set a hard monthly cap in the dashboard. Before each new candidate invite we estimate the attempt's cost, and if it would push this month's spend past your cap, the invite is blocked until you raise the cap or the month rolls over. The cap counts all metered spend for the month, including usage covered by your plan's included credit, not just overage. Email alerts go out at 50%, 80%, and 100% of the cap. If you never set one, it defaults to 1.5x your plan's monthly credit pool; you can change it or disable it entirely.
Pick an AI mode per question when building the assessment. A completed candidate attempt bills the sum, e.g. 3× No-AI ($9) + 2× Agentic ($60) = $69. Cost uses the effective rate (tier + volume discount) at submit time.
Only completed attempts count toward billing. Half-finished, abandoned, or rejected attempts are free.
